Coronavirus/COVID-19
Coronavirus can cause mild to more severe respiratory illness. These symptoms include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Difficulty in breathing
If you are having any of the following symptoms identified by the CDC as high-risk for COVID-19, you may be eligible for testing.
The above symptoms appear within 14 days of being exposed to an infectious person. COVID-19 spreads primarily through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
The Health Department recommends that the public do the following to protect themselves and others from respiratory illnesses:
– Avoid non-essential travel, public gatherings, or places where large groups of people congregate, such as ticketed events (such as theaters, concert halls, and sporting events).
– Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer only if soap and water are not available.
– Avoid touching your face – eyes, nose, and mouth.
– Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.
– Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
– Work from home if you are mildly sick with a fever, until you have been fever-free for 24 hours, except to get medical care.
Those with high risk factors and who have fever or new or worsening cough, call ahead to let us know of your symptoms.
Contact Fairfax Urgent Care today if you have any questions about Coronavirus or think you may benefit from testing: 703-493-0404.
